Two Engagement Models. One Standard of Senior Leadership.

ISG structures engagements around the inflection point at hand — embedded fractional leadership for multi-quarter builds or defined-scope projects for specific moments. Both deliver the same standard: senior commercial experience from someone who has done it before.

How We Engage

Two engagement models — chosen based on the structure the moment requires.

Fractional C-Suite Leadership

Embedded executive leadership without a full-time hire.

Fractional CCO, CBO, or CMO engagements for life sciences companies that need senior commercial firepower for a defined period — typically multi-quarter, with direct accountability to the board and integration into executive team rhythm.

Best fit for:
Companies preparing for or executing a capital raise; pre-commercial companies building toward launch; companies in active business development or in-licensing; companies between full-time CCO/CBO hires.
Engagement structure:
Multi-quarter commitment, defined hours per week or month, direct board reporting, integrated into executive team operations.

Strategic Advisory & Project Work

Defined-scope engagements for specific inflection points.

Project-based engagements organized around a single primary objective, with additional workstreams scoped and authorized as the work evolves. Standard rate is $250/hour; engagements are scoped against a primary goal with workstreams defined for the initial committed scope.

Best fit for:
Specific inflection points: capital raise preparation, in-licensing diligence, launch readiness assessment, partner identification, market access strategy, commercial organization design.
Engagement structure:
Statement of Work with one primary goal, multiple workstreams, additional workstreams added upon written authorization.

What We Do

Six capabilities that show up across both engagement models.

Capital Formation & Investor Relations

Seed through Series C support, convertible note bridges, capital structure narratives, board and investor communications, and the alignment of commercial strategy with funding milestones. Active experience leading capital raises and presenting directly to investor stakeholders.

Business Development, In-Licensing & Partnerships

Diligence, term sheet development, partnership structuring, and partner identification. Active experience leading in-licensing negotiations for specialty therapies and structuring strategic partnerships across the life sciences ecosystem.

Commercial Strategy & Launch Readiness

Brand strategy, sales force design, launch planning, and commercial team scale-up. Built on 15+ product launches across neurology, oncology, cardiology, women’s health, urology, infectious disease, dermatology, and rare disease.

Market Access, Pricing & Commercialization

Payer strategy, specialty pharmacy, managed care contracting, distribution, and pricing model design. Deep functional experience built across senior roles at Teva, Bayer, Veru, and Evofem.

Board & Investor Communications

Strategy updates, financial performance reporting, pipeline development briefings, and the capital narrative work that connects board discussions to investor confidence.

Leadership Advisory

Senior advisory support for executive teams facing high-stakes commercial decisions — sounding board, strategic counsel, and frameworks for the moments where outside perspective from someone who has done it before changes the answer.

How an ISG Engagement Works

Every engagement follows a consistent process — calibrated to the engagement model and the inflection point at hand.

01

Diagnostic Conversation

We define the inflection point, success criteria, and the leadership structure that fits the moment. Typically a 30–60 minute conversation, no obligation.

02

Engagement Design

We propose the engagement structure (fractional or project) and scope the primary engagement, including any additional workstreams that may be authorized as work evolves.

03

Strategic Work

We deliver the substantive engagement: commercial strategy, capital formation, BD/in-licensing, launch planning, or whatever the moment demands.

04

Board & Investor Engagement

For most engagements, we present directly to boards of directors and investor stakeholders — providing commercial strategy updates, financial performance reporting, and pipeline development briefings.

05

Outcome & Transition

We close out engagements with clear deliverables and structured transition to internal leadership where appropriate.

Why Life Sciences Companies Engage ISG

Five things ISG brings that most life sciences advisors don’t.

01

Senior Bench

Engagements are led by someone with 30 years of senior commercial leadership across pharma, biotech, medical devices, and diagnostics — not associates, not project managers.

02

Strategic Architect AND Operational Executor

Most advisors do strategy or execution. ISG does both — often inside the same engagement. Capital narratives that survive contact with execution. Strategies built by people who will help build the team to execute on them.

03

Engagement Models That Fit the Moment

Fractional or project-based, calibrated to what the inflection point actually requires. No forcing the moment into a fixed deliverable structure.

04

Direct Investor & Board Experience

Active experience presenting to boards of directors, leading investor conversations, and translating commercial performance into capital narratives — across multiple companies, multiple financing rounds.

05

Life Sciences Specialty

30 years inside life sciences. Not generalist consulting applied to life sciences — life sciences depth applied to commercial leadership.
